Tolsa joins All4Zero to drive industrial innovation and decarbonisation
Tolsa joins All4Zero, the industrial technology innovation hub founded by ArcelorMittal, Holcim Iberia and Repsol, with the aim of contribuiting its expertise in minerals and special clays to the development of innovative industrial solutions. This collaboration opens up opportunities to explore new applications for these natural resources and develop advanced materials capable of responding to some of the major challenges shared by the industry: the energy transition, decarbonisation and the circular economy.
A hub to accelerate industrial innovation
All4Zero was founded with the purpose of accelerating the development and validation of technologies that support a more sustainable industry based on circular economy principles. It promotes collaboration between major industrial companies, startups, SMEs, universities and research centres. Its key strength is providing access to facilities and real-world industrial environments where new technologies can be tested, validated and scaled up. This helps bridge the gap between an initial idea and its practical application.
By joining the hub, Tolsa expands its opportunities for collaboration and open innovation. It also becomes part of an ecosystem that connects knowledge, technology and industry. This model provides an ideal framework for collaborative projects and accelerates the development of solutions that can help transform industrial processes towards more efficient and sustainable production models.
Mineral science, at the service of energy transition
Tolsa’s expertise in the development and processing of minerals and speciality clays provides the foundation for its research into new industrial applications and their potential in emerging technologies. This partnership reinforces Tolsa’s commitment to connecting its specialist knowledge of minerals with the development of technologies that address the challenges of decarbonisation, a step that is part of the company’s broader, long-term innovation strategy.
An ESG roadmap with clear targets through to 2050
Joining All4Zero is part of Tolsa’s commitment to making its industrial operations increasingly efficient and reducing their environmental impact. This ambition is set out in the company’s ESG roadmap. The results already reflect this progress: a 20% reduction in total Scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emissions compared with 2024 and a cumulative 54% reduction in total Scope 1 emissions compared with the baseline year.
To continue this progress, Tolsa is working to improve energy efficiency, optimise processes such as solar drying, gradually reduce its use of fossil fuels and increase the use of renewable energy. The company is also implementing an ISO 50001 energy management system, alongside measures to reduce plastic use and water consumption and ensure that 100% of waste is managed.
This commitment also extends to the responsible management of natural resources: sustainable mining certification in every country where Tolsa operates, ecosystem restoration plans and biodiversity projects. The company aims to fully align with the Paris Agreement and achieve a net positive impact on society and the environment from 2050 onwards.
It is in this context that the incorporation into All4Zero takes on its true meaning: it connects Tolsa’s expertise in minerals and speciality clays with the technological innovation driving the energy transition, and it strengthens the company’s contribution to the shared goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
